Safeguarding and Child Protection

Stephen Freeman Primary School is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We undertake rigorous checks on all staff and volunteers who work in our school and maintain a central record documenting these. All of our staff and volunteers undertake in-house Child Protection training.

  • If you have any concerns about the safety of a child, please speak to Jess Lewis, Headteacher, Sue Shaw, Child and Family Support Officer or Deborah Wilson, Child and Family Support Worker
  • Any concerns about the conduct of a member of staff in relation to safeguarding and child protection should be raised through the Whistleblowing Policy to Jess Lewis, Headteacher or Mark Bodeker, Chair of Governing Body.
  • All school policies relating to the safeguarding of pupils are available for further reference on the school website (www.stephen-freeman.oxon.sch.uk). Paper copies can be requested from the school office.
  • If you have any concerns outside of school hours regarding the welfare of a child please contact staff on the email addresses provided – If the concerns are of an IMMEDIATE nature contact the
    MASH team 0345 050 766, Emergency Duty Team 0800 833 40 or Thames Valley Police on 101/999
